Restructuring Ready

Date

23 April 2026 16:30 - 20:00

Location

AmsterdamSchipluidenlaan 41062 HE

Two out of ten investments fail. Are you prepared?

Every PE investor knows: restructuring isn’t a matter of if, but when. Yet in practice, we see that intervention often comes 12 to 18 months too late. The denial phase drags on. “Next quarter will be better.” “The market will recover.” Until you run out of cash and spiral into distress.

On April 23, we’re bringing together investors, bankers, CEOs and CFOs for an open conversation about the topic nobody likes to discuss, but everyone will face at some point.

Who should attend?

This event is specifically designed for:

  • Private equity investors guiding portfolio companies through different stages
  • Bankers working in Special Asset Management and restructuring
  • CFOs of mid-sized companies (100+ FTE) making strategic financial decisions
  • Venture capital investors with scale-ups facing growing pains

PE investors: we encourage you to bring a CEO or CFO from one of your portfolio companies as your +1.

Meet the speakers

Keynote: Joost de Haas
Joost has been in turnaround management since 2001, acquiring and turning around several companies including Roto Smeets Group. As Adjunct Professor at INSEAD, he teaches ‘Managing Corporate Turnarounds’ in the MBA and EMBA programs. His career spans McKinsey, senior executive roles in FMCG and telecom, and entrepreneurship since 1994.

This combination of hands-on experience and academic depth makes Joost uniquely qualified to address the hard questions: When do you intervene? How do you break through denial? What separates a successful turnaround from a failed one?

Following his keynote, Joost will moderate a panel of practitioners who deal with restructuring firsthand.

Pim Honig – CEO, Clean Solutions Group
Pim has lived the operational reality of restructuring firsthand, completing two turnarounds at Amsterdam Metallized Products and leading an intensive restructuring at Clean Solutions Group, culminating in a successful MBO in September 2024.

Sándor Sepsanie – Head of Financial Restructuring & Recovery, ABN AMRO
Sándor brings over 15 years of experience in restructuring and recovery. As Head of Financial Restructuring & Recovery at ABN AMRO, he operates group-wide with extensive experience guiding PE-owned companies through complex processes, spanning domestic and international transactions from small and mid-market to large cap.

Ynze Talstra – Partner & Attorney, TRIP Advocaten Notarissen
Ynze specializes in restructuring, insolvency, and corporate law, advising entrepreneurs, directors, and financiers on complex situations of financial distress. Regularly appointed as a curator, he combines legal depth with a sharp eye for the financial and strategic realities of businesses and serves as a trusted sparring partner for PE firms, management teams, and investors.
